Dear All,
the walk on Sunday 8th. April will be around Stanhope in Weardale. There are two variants of this walk, one is 9 miles and one is 5.6 miles and they both have spectacular views over the valley and travel through heather moorland, beside pretty streams and through woodland.

Depending on numbers, weather and inclination we can all stay together for one of the walks or split into two groups and meet up in a tea room in Stanhope at the end.

The walking is mainly on field paths and moorland tracks with short sections of road and some steep sections on the way up onto the moors. From the walk description, there are some stiles on the route but mainly it is gates so I hope it will be dog friendly, but obviously can't guarantee, ( but we've always managed in the past !)

Meet at The Durham Dales Visitor Centre near the Market Place  where you can also park ( Note that parking duration is restricted to four hours.)

SatNav: DL13 2NE

We'll be setting off at 11 a.m.

I'm going to be out of contact until Saturday 7th. so please arrange any potential car sharing between yourselves but please
DO let me know that you are coming so we don't leave anyone behind.

Hope to see you there
