This is a beautiful and popular walk of approximately 8 miles - details can be found by clicking on the link above. Please let me know, by Friday night,  if you intend to come  by text or calling my mobile 07768 604561

at 10.15 for this moderate walk which should take us between 3 and 5 hours, depending on how long we linger to enjoy the scenery. The route explores remote moorland before crossing the River Tees and briefly joining the Pennine Way; walking beside the River Tees we'll see the rare juniper forest habitat and the series of waterfalls that are High and Low Force .

Good paths throughout, but stout walking shoes and waterproofs are always a good idea. Bring a picnic and let me know if you need or can offer a lift.

The next walk, in July,  will be a big one - Scafell or Scafell Pike - and that seems a fitting place for me to bow out of being the Green Mountains organiser for a while.

There are dates set in the diary for the rest of the year and if any one would like to think about suggesting and leading a walk for any or all of these days please let me know and we can talk about what is involved.

I hope that the original aim of Green Mountains - to bring lay and monastic sangha together in a relaxed, informal way, experiencing practice in the natural environment has been  realised and it would be very good if the success we have achieved could be taken and built on by others.

Thanks for your support and kind comments over the last couple of years.

Jenny
