Dear Green Mountaineers, Fred and Treasa from the Leeds Meditation Group are organising a walk on June 26th from Grassington and they asked me to put these details on the site so that anyone who fancies it can join them.
"We'll be meeting at 11.00 at Conistone (road-side parking available). Take the B6265 from Grassington to Threshfield, then turn right onto the B6160, then right again just before Kilnsey to cross the River Wharfe into Conistone. This is all on the map to be used for the walk: O.S. Outdoor Leisure 10 Yorks Dales southern area.
We first follow the Dales Way across a limestone plateau to Grassington, have lunch in a cafe there, then walk back to Conistone following the river & alongside woodland.
I have a detailed card from a set of walks & have done this before - 6.75 miles, 3.5 to 4 hours. There's a bit of a stiff climb up to the plateau then it's fairly easy.
I also have a leaflet which details some shorter, easier walks around Grassington if anyone would prefer. This would mean parking in the Nat. Park carpark just outside Grassington. If we end up being two groups, perhaps we could arrange to meet in the village square around 1.00 & find somewhere to eat all together.
Hope that's everything, but please contact me with any questions.
Anyone who wants more details, or to let us know that they are going and can offer, or need, a lift please use the googlegroup e mail.
Hope you have a good day.
